Rotary Foundation

​

1.  Our club has for many years made very generous contribution to the Rotary Foundation Annual Programs Fund with annual contribution of USD12,000-15,000 and achieved the “Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY)” club recognition for having all our members contributed at least USD100 to the Rotary Foundation.   In 2009/10 under the able leadership of then President Dennis Lo and Club Foundation Chair Past President Louis Tang, our club made even greater achievement by becoming 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club with our historic high total contributions of US$30,899.  In that year, three of our members namely Past Presidents Wilson Lam, Kenneth Wong & Louis Tang became major donors.  This marvelous result enabled our club to be recognized by the district as having the highest total donation as well as per-capita donation in 2009/10.

2.  Our club also participated in many Rotary Foundation Programs.  In 2002 we nominated our Rotaractor Fonia Wong to join the Group Study Exchange (GSE) program to the U.S. with our Past President David Loie as the GSE team leader.   In 2010, our Past President Kenneth Wong served as GSE team leader to Sao Paolo, Brazil.  During 2009/10, our Rotaractor Sheena Cheng served as Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar to study at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, USA.

3. Other than Matching Grants with our sister clubs, our club successfully applied for the District Simplified Grant (DSG) to support our youth projects with Salvation Army in 2009/10 & 2010/11.   Our club also fulfilled our commitment to support the Rotary Bill Gates $200 million challenge grants for polio eradication with donation to PolioPlus of US2,000 for three consecutive years.
