Club Service & Fellowship

1.  Besides our Annual Fund Raising Ball, CP Donald Yap’s “Hairy Crab” Birthday Party in November and our annual Christmas Party are the two major fellowship activities well participated by our family members each year. Since Rotary year 2005/06 under then President Claire Mak, our club started the “Theme Night” for few times a year which featured various themes or gourmet food such as wine tasting, Halloween children party, Shanghai, Japanese or Macanese Night, golf night, “You Can Cook” cookery class etc.   Under the years of President Dennis Lo (2009/10) and President Frankie Wu (2010/11), our fellowship activities have extended to include one-day tour and outing in Tai Po & Sai Kung & Yuen Long.

 

2. Our monthly club bulletin “TaiPost” was first started in 1996/97 and has gone through some ups and downs.  We had a successful year under Claire Mak’s presidency 2005/06 with Ronald Chung as our chief editor and we won a District Award for Bulletin (English version).  TaiPost has now restarted in 2010/11 with Past President Claire as our chief editor and all members, family and guests are now excited to read the well designed bulletin filled with rich content and photos to learn about Rotary or catch up with club affairs.

3. Golf & horse racing have also been popular hobby many of our members. Since Rotary year 2003/04 under Jacky Sung’s presidency, our club has organized Pre-annual dinner Golf Tournament for both fellowship and fund raising.  The Tai Po Rotary Racing Syndicate was established in 1999 by some members of the club and the two horses Platinum Express (我先到) and Winning Fellowship (好有勝) both performed very well overall in their racing lives and brought great excitement to our members from time to time.
